more. The Keighley Cougars are a professional rugby league club from Keighley in West Yorkshire, England who compete in the Championship, the second tier of English rugby league. I would definitely recommend working for acorn stairlifts and I personally had no issues with the company or any of the staff, in fact I found it to be a very upbeat and positive environment. Breaks are depending on how many hours you work and there is a variety of food to choose from as there’s multiple canteens dotted around the work place. The company gradually increases your workload at a comfortable pace. The actual workload is not bad at all and team leaders are more than happy to help you if you are struggling. It’s very easy to fit in regardless of how you look as the workforce is diverse and very friendly which makes it a very happy working atmosphere. The people are fantastic to work with and are very down to earth. Even after completing training there is still a lot of support if you do struggle or have a question than there’s always a friendly face to ask. The training lasted me 3 weeks and by the end of the training I was more than ready to get started. The training is very detailed and covers everything you need to know and allows you to shadow someone on the calls for a week. You are also provided with a lot of support and training before going into this job, making this job perfect for people who might not have telephone experience or customer orientated experience. The interview process was all straightforward and the questions were mainly competency based and I received confirmation that I got the job within the same week of the interview, which was good. I worked as a customer service advisor on evenings, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Acorn stairlifts. I get along well with the engineers & I enjoy working with the planning team, it was the best move to make and I appreciated management for acknowledging what I mentioned in the beginning.

I moved to planning & have loved working there so far.

I finished training and started in customer service and was immediately rewarded for quickly becoming top call taker & doing well so quick, I was praised for the job I was doing, & was asked if I wanted to move to planning as management had heard I took an interest initially in training, saw how well I took to customer service & knew I’d be a good fit. I mentioned early in training that I liked the planning department and found their role of organising the engineers and their jobs fun but also challenging, and that it would be something I’d like to try in the future. I started in the customer service department and whilst in training, we were navigated through the different departments and given a brief description on their roles within the company. Rumours go around in that office truly baffles me with staff being really nice to your face and then talk about you behind your back! I was not appreciated for the work I did or the overtime I did to show that I was passionate for what I did, management broke the news whilst I was working just to tell me with no remorse I was no longer employed with them. They don't care about your well-being they don't have any empathy for their staff. There is definitely favouritism in the office.

During work you wonder what to do next, team leaders are rarely ever available which is mind blowing.

When you ask for help and when they are on their break but on the floor they just dismiss and quote would they bother us if we were on our break bearing in mind we get lectured to stay on our floor but the staff room (meeting room) is ever rarely free and expected to sit in the freezing canteen. I had two team leaders and I was only there a space of three months, the office itself was very unorganised and unprofessional, forget about covid cause I was moved a good three times in the service department and others use your computer when you least know it so your desk is not truly your own work space. Training took a good whole month when I spoke to others it only took 2 weeks, this was bearable but the after process once you started it felt like stressful and uncomfortable environment. The recruitment process was good and the response from hearing I got the job offer that was within a day or two which was really good but it ended there.
